SUMMARY:Fundraising Concert
DESCRIPTION:In January 2023\, the Chinese Music Teachers Association of Northern California held a “War\, Music\, Hope” fundraising concert for the Ukrainian refugee music students affected by the war. Thanks to everyone’s generosity\, which enabled them to participate in the Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival held in Estonia in July 2023. \nAnother year has passed\, and as we gather with our families and friends\, the flames of war in Ukraine have not ceased\, but burning higher and higher. Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival became the light in their most desperate and darkest times. Through learning from world-class musicians and the experience of performing alongside with them\, music has reignited their passion for life. \nThis year\, the CMTANC remains committed to spreading love and care across the globe. Through our ongoing fundraising efforts for the Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival\, we endeavor to demonstrate unwavering support and encouragement to the talented refugee Ukrainian music students. \nThis fundraising concert will showcase an exquisite chamber music performance featuring a violin and piano duo. Renowned pianist Mr. Alexander Kobrin\, winner of the prestigious 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition\, co-director of the Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival\, will collaborate with Mr. Boris Abramov\, distinguished violin professor at Schwob School of Music and Belmont University\, member of the festival faculty. \nThe concert program features a thoughtfully curated selection\, showcasing masterpieces such as Beethoven’s piano sonata\, “Appassionata”\, the iconic A Major violin sonata by César Franck\, and enchanting works for violin and piano by Ukrainian composer Sergei Bortkiewicz. \nAll ticket proceeds will be donated to the Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival to assist Ukrainian music students. The CMTANC will also provide tax receipts for your ticket purchases! \nPlease join us and experience the captivating concert\, as we collectively inspire hope and uplift the spirits of the talented refugee Ukrainian musicians. Schwab Achool of Music and Belmont University \nPurchase ticket
