DESCRIPTION:Sarah Chan:“比赛评分”与“音乐即兴技术” \nDr. Sarah Chan is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist\, artist-teacher\, and scholar. She is the recipient of numerous honors including the The American Prize in Piano Performance\, the “Rising Artist” Award from New York Concert Artists and Associates\, the Professional Prize at PianoTexas International Festival\, and the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar Distinguished Teacher Award presented by the U.S. Department of Education. She has also received faculty honors including the Outstanding Professor Award and the Outstanding Research\, Scholarship\, and Creative Activity Award from California State University\, Stanislaus\, as well as the Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Eastman School of Music. \nAs a concert pianist\, Dr. Chan has performed throughout North America\, Europe\, Asia\, and South America at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall\, The Kennedy Center\, Berlin Philharmonic Hall\, Salle Cortot in Paris\, and St. James Piccadilly in London. She has appeared as concerto soloist with orchestras such as the National “Mihail Jora” Philharmonic of Romania\, the MÁV Symphony Orchestra Budapest\, the New York Concert Artists Symphony\, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Her debut recording\, Portraits of France and Spain: Piano Music from Impressionism and National Romanticism to the Avant-Garde (1880–1960)\, is scheduled for release in 2025–2026. \nDr. Chan currently serves as Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at California State University\, Stanislaus\, where she teaches applied piano\, collaborative piano\, music theory\, literature\, pedagogy\, and music history. She has also taught on the piano faculties of Stanford University and the Eastman School of Music. In addition to her academic work\, she frequently presents international masterclasses and residencies and serves as a board member and artistic advisor of the Steinway Society Bay Area.
